What is Salary Converter?
Salary Converter translates an hourly wage into the pay figures people actually compare: annual salary, monthly pay, daily rate, and the hourly equivalent, plus after-tax annual and monthly estimates. It is built for job seekers comparing offers quoted in different units and for freelancers checking what an hourly rate really adds up to.
The math is transparent: annual pay equals hourly wage times hours per week times weeks per year, monthly is annual divided by 12, daily is annual divided by 365, and the after-tax figures multiply by one minus the tax rate. You control every assumption — hours per week, weeks per year, and tax percentage.
Results appear only once you have entered a positive wage and positive weekly hours, and they recalculate on every keystroke with no button to press.
How to use it
- Type your pay in the Hourly wage ($/hour) box (the placeholder suggests 25).
- Adjust Hours per week (default 40) and Weeks per year (default 52) to match your schedule.
- Set Tax rate (%) (default 20) for the after-tax estimates, or set it to 0 to see gross figures only.
- Read the cards: Annual, Monthly, Daily, Hourly, and below them After-tax annual and After-tax monthly.
Why use this over alternatives
Most salary calculators ask for a fixed 40-hour week or hide the tax math. Here every input is editable, the formulas are simple and visible, and results update as you type. The tool runs locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The tool does not intentionally send your wage or tax figures to our servers.
